KICKBOXING FOR FITNESS - CONTACT OPTIONAL
WHY KICKBOXING?
Fit people are always asking me why they should try kickboxing, and what it entails. I am going to make it as easy as possible.
#1. IT'S A TOTAL BODY WORKOUT.
While training in this sport, you will use each and every muscle in your body. Guaranteed. Not one will go unused. Your body will benefit from greater endurance, strength, and flexibility.
CARDIOVASCULAR TRAINING (ENDURANCE)
While training like a pro with equipment (heavy bags, kicking shields, etc.) during a 90-minute workout, you will burn as estimated 800 to 1000 calories.
STRENGTH BUILDING
Training like a professional, with equipment for a kickboxing fitness class, you will be meeting resistance with each strike (punches, kicks, etc.) Punching and kicking in the air will only be carried out during warm-up drills. Powerful punches and kicks against an opponent will only be executed on the training and focus pads and kicking shields. This will enhance your strength.
FLEXIBILITY
Although rules in certain styles of kickboxing require kicks above the belt, they do not apply to fitness kickboxing! Participants should kick at a comfortable height, and strive for improvement. It does not matter if you cannot do the splits, because in the streets, there are no such rules. So, focus kicks to the knees and the groin.
PHYSICAL RELIEF
Kickboxing will completely alleviate any outside stresses. It's a sport that requires skill. Therefore, perfecting a right cross, left hook, right uppercut, right knee to the head, and defending your opponents' punches and kicks requires a lot of mental strength. The bottom line is that kickboxing is a lot of fun and that you do not have to step into a ring to enjoy its benefits.
#3. CONFIDENCE
Kickboxing builds a heightened self-confidence level, because it breaks you, just like in the army. The instructor treats everybody the same. There are no favourites. He calls the shots. If he, or she, tells you to bend over backwards, you must at least make the attempt. The drills resemble boot-camp exercises, where you alternate between push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and so on. Before you know it, you will be doing everything that you could not have accomplished when you began. You will be in superior physical shape. You will look and feel healthy. Getting through this type of workout will leave you feeling not only exhilarated, but unstoppable.
